Okay, so I was talking to empressaurelius about all the movies I watched this Labor Day weekend and how I've got this monster plot bunny that's haunting me...And (since she knows about it and why I'm nervous) I thought I'd 'ask' about it first before I agonize over the little details concerning said plot bunny...


This weekend I watched these three movies that are now rolling around in my mind...in addition to one I just bought yesterday (Gangs of New York)...First I saw a flick called Connie and Carla (by the lady who wrote and acted in My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and it's about two women who hide from these men who want to kill them by acting in a Drag bar, ie: Women dressed as men dressed as women. This was what started my thinking about a possible fic. Though as you've probably guessed the reason why I'm a little anxious is because of the transvestitism and how it might squick people. After that movie I finally rented Ned Kelly (Irish gang in Aussie land with Wombat stew!)...well that got me thinking about Irish gangs...and since Sean is part Irish that just fell into place. Then yesterday I watched Moulin Rouge...I think you all know exactly where this is going...

So now I've got an evil plot bunny that goes as follows:

AU Description: Set in the turn of the century (the last century) in an upscale bordello where Elijah headlines as their ‘main attraction.’ (Classic Rent Boy with a slight twist...and garter belts...) Sean is the right hand man to the ringleader of an Irish gang that does a lot of business with many of the people who frequent the establishment in which Elijah works.

So, if anyone who reads this post, especially to anyone who has read my other fics, I would like to know if what I am proposing as a possible fic idea is far too bold for this time? If it is, please tell me so I do not spend time with agonizing over it. And if you are intrigued by the idea and don't think it's...squickish I'd like to know. :D In addition, since I finished my homework for Spanish lll early I drew a costume design for Sean...so even if you don't like the idea you can still see what the outfit might look like. :D (Sash is so wrong in the right hand pic, and that is a J for jacket thought it looks like a G...*hides*)


In other news: My beach volleyball boys (Metzger/Holdren) tied for 13th place in Chicago on the AVP tour, and they'll be playing again next weekend in Las Vegas! :D

I don't think it's "squickish." I think it would be a good story if the right person wrote it. I could see how you could make it go too far but I think you should go for it!

Sounds intriging. I say write it. I write for myself not to please others. When I get positive feedback it just makes me want to write more. When I get negative feedback I usually don't pay much attention to it.

I'll most likely read it ^_^ If I ever catch up with Preordained that is >_
